Student Mentoring

Proverbs 22:6- Train up a child in the way he should go, even when he is old he will not depart from it.

Overview: The Journey Youth Ministry Mentoring Program envisions a mentoring program in which every youth experiences nurturing one to one relationships, which in turn allows each of them to develop into their full potential, capable of making informed, Biblically based life choices.

Mission: An essential part of the Journey Student Ministry at One is the mentoring piece. Our mission is to partner with parents to help bring out the best in their children. We do so by creating relationships where youth get to watch us model Christ like behavior and values. We believe in the old adage, “lessons are caught not taught.” Jesus, Himself, used this method of teaching in training his disciple, Paul, to believe in fostering close relationships to help people find their true identity in Christ. Our church believes that life change happens when you walk side by side with people and in the midst of small groups, and Journey promotes that same belief through its mentoring program.
